Anglais ème has been designed with a learning-by-doing methodology among others. This is an approach which allows the learner to build knowledge in a collaborative way through exposure to and manipulation of language contents. The end goal here is to get the learner to immerse him or herself in the language which becomes part of his or her everyday life. The underlying principle in this book is therefore teaching English for communication in all Domains of Life (DOL) found in the revised version of the official syllabus of the first cycle of General Education of the French-speaking sub-system of education.

Anglais 5ème equally embeds a problem-solving method that sources from and roots in the major observations and scientific findings about the challenges faced by English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners in general and French-L1 (English-L2) users in particular. Each topic throughout the series gives learners an excellent grounding in the four Categories of Action (macro-skills) through visual and practical and real-life-based relevant language to maintain their interest, facilitate learning and ensure progress.
